I am a second year Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Ph.D. student in the Bernardi lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

I am broadly interested in understanding how communities came about as we see them in nature.  My current research interests include mechanisms of speciation and the patterns of distribution of marine fish populations across both short and long distances. Moreover, I am interested in the evolution of such distributions and the factors affecting dispersal.  The goals of my research are to reconstruct the evolutionary histories and current genetic structures of marine
populations, which will in turn inform the conservation
and management of marine communities and fisheries.
